About the Instructor

Bio

Amanda Zahm is a 500-Hour Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-500, RYT-200), jewelry artist & owner of Schwa Dee Dah Designs, and 6th grade teacher from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Her personal yoga practice began as a way to manage chronic illness symptoms and stress relief. She has learned that the beauty of yoga is that it is truly for everyone, and she demonstrates this belief in her class modifications and down-to-earth spirit. Her growing focus areas are centered around Hatha, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Chair, and Restorative Yoga, particularly for those with chronic hip and back pain.

Amanda completed her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training with a trauma-sensitive focus under the guidance of Stephanie Mitchell of Yoga & Ayurveda School in March of 2021 where she also previously completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in August of 2020. She is a registered member of Yoga Alliance, and she is currently enrolled in continuing education classes for specialty certificates in Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Ayurveda

In addition to her yoga education, Amanda achieved a BSE in English with dual concentrations in Linguistics and English as a Second Language and a minor in Psychology. She also achieved an M.Ed. in Language and Literacy with a concentration in English as a Second Language. She is certified to teach Yoga, English Language Arts, English as a Second Language, and Social Studies.
